2013 – Happy New Year!

Hey everybody,

happy new year! Hope you survived all that Christmas cake (if applicable) and have made your new year’s resolution, so we can kick off again with new Augmented Reality activities. Hopefully many of us have the resolution “Let’s do even more AR 2013”! I’d be happy to continuously document your and our progress again! Hope to see you here and live in 2013!

So let’s start off with another visionary video from the good guys and gals of the Carnegie Mellon University. The Xenon-Team of the Entertainment Technology Center has put up a great concept presentation of how latest emerging technology could really look like within the next 10 to 20 years (their clame). They combined latest and upcoming hardware and software for a vision of how interpersonal communication could look like.

It’s a well done video from a small group and what I especially like is the micro-quadcopter usage for the flying personal head-shot-camera. In most sci-fi stories with video chat I keep asking myself: who is recording my 3rd person perspective in outer space! Here it is all realistically thought through. Enjoy!

Have a great start!
