Too much to digest - ISMAR08

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Hi friends,

there is a lot of buzz going on ISMAR and lots of news regarding Augmented Reality. Since Games Alfresco has a pretty good and daily coverage of what is going on I just want to refer to his website instead of copying information from an event I myself could unfortunately not attend. Enjoy all the news and videos from Ori Inbar here:

Build your own AR

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

During ISMAR08 Mark Billinghurst from HITLAB just announced their latest release: a toolkit to try out AR yourself. Aiming at no-programmers, this tool is as easy as Powerpoint or Notepad (supposedly). Check out the website for BuildAR and download it for free (WinXP/Vista). :)

Virtual Worlds Panel

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

During the Virtual Worlds conference in Los Angeles, there was one panel on augmented reality. For those of you who couldn’t make it (like me, grrr) can take a 1-hour-glance at the whole presentation on Roo Reynolds website.

Now running is the ISMAR08 in Cambridge this time. I hope we will get some fresh information on new prototypes, ideas and AR concepts soon! Stay tuned!
